Rock Cottage is a picture postcard holiday cottage in North Devon in the village of Goodleigh, just outside of Barnstaple. With stunning views over the Taw Estuary, this beautiful, traditional thatched holiday cottage near Barnstaple sleeps 4 people. Nestled in the quiet countryside of North Devon, with easy access to the great beaches of Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe, this is an ideal self catering holiday accommodation base for exploring North Devon, Exmoor and beyond.
Park the car at the roofline of Rock cottage(whose name describes its setting, carved into a Devon shale hillside), and if you or your children have ever wondered how thatch looks up-close, you may inspect for yourself. Then take a moment to experience the view of rolling hills leading down to the Taw Estuary, the silence broken only by the lowing cattle, the gently bleating sheep or the chattering song of woodland birds, and you realise that you’re in a holiday world already, and you haven’t even stepped inside your cosy thatched North Devon cottage retreat ...
Rock Cottage sleeps 4 people in two bedrooms (1 double and 1 twin). Made from “cob”, Rock Cottage’s 17th century two-foot-thick walls will keep you naturally cool in the summer, and combine with the insulating properties of the thatched roof to keep you snug and warm in the winter.
